What kind of clothes should I bring?

Because of the warm, humid climate in Manas National Park, it would be best to bring light and airy clothes. This could include regular t-shirts, tank tops, shorts, and hats. Sneakers or hiking shoes would also be appropriate while navigating through the park.

Will I be in any danger navigating through the park?

No, you will be protected in your vehicles and with trained personnel who know their way all around the area. Just keep a good distance from any wildlife that could be potentially threatening, and enjoy the sight!

What kind of animal is Manas National Park known for?

At this park, we have many diverse species of birds that would be perfect for bird watching. However, we also have one of the largest tiger reserves, called the Manas Tiger Reserve, which protects the endangered tiger in a natural habitat.

What is a must-see feature in Manas National Park?

The focal point of the whole park is the Manas River. Running through the center, tourists can stay in a hotel right by the bank, watching wildlife right before their eyes.

As well as being in a beautiful India setting, Manas National Park is filled with wildlife that’s rarely seen anywhere else. It has over 20 endangered species in a well-protected area. There is also an option of elephant rides as a method of transportation.

Where is Manas National Park?

This park is located in Assam, India. It lies at the bottom of the Himalayas, south-east of the Manas River and on the Assam-Bhutan border.

Surprisingly, little research has been done in the park. Currently, there are such projects studying the pigmy hog, grassland ecology, and the honey bee, to name a few.

Assam is rich in hydroelectric production, coal, oil, and tea. However, it also has a diverse culture from the many surrounding states and people.

Yes, there is also an elephant reserve called the Chirang Ripu Elephant Reserve, which was declared by Manas in 2002.
