First, what's a Biome?

A biome is major type of ecosystem located on Earth. Each of the biomes are spread out over large expanses of land, with certain regional characteristics including climate, types of animals, and types of vegetation.

Now what's an Ecosystem?

An ecosystem is a certain place where organisms reside as well as their interactions with abiotic (or non-living) environment. These ecosystems are located within biomes, and much smaller with more specific characteristics.

So how does Manas National Park fit in?

Manas National Park is an ecosystem, that's actually within two biomes- the grassland and tropical forest. However, more of Manas is focused in the grassland biome. Located in Assam, India, the park was made a sanctuary on October 1, 1928. It has many rare forms of wildlife not seen anywhere else, including but not limited to the Manas Tiger Reserve, which protects endangered tigers. The climate varies from about 15-37 degrees Celsius, and the heaviest rainfall occurs between May and September. For tourists, the best time to visit would be between October and April, as to not get caught in the heavy rainfall. Manas has the potential and ability to be a noticeable and rewarding attraction, however most people don't even know it exists! So come explore the site, and see what Manas has to offer.
